First NORC Identified In Buffalo

This year, Legal Services for the Elderly started a collaboration with Jewish Family Services for the first time in our history.

We are providing legal services to the NORC project developed for the West Side. NORC stands for Naturally Occurring Retirement Community.

A NORC occurs when so many individuals age in place in a particular neighborhood that it makes more sense to bring the services to them, rather than move the entire neighborhood into an institutional setting. It is a relatively new concept nationwide and the first one identified in the Buffalo area.
